There are thousands of families in our area that are impacted by autism.
On Tuesday, Autism Up held its annual conference. It was geared to provide training for teachers, caregivers and parents with special needs children. Experts say the number of children being diagnosed with some form of autism is growing significantly and everyone is going to need to be prepared.
Dr. Paula Kluth, education consultant, said, “All teachers need to have a strategy when it comes to dealing with children who have some developmental issues or communication differences.”
Kluth says making sure everyone is properly trained will help make a significans difference in a child's growth and development.
