How do Americans feel about their elected officials? Not very good according to a new poll by NBC News and the Wall Street Journal.

According to that poll, 60 percent of Americans said they would vote to defeat and replace every single member of Congress, including their own representatives.

Only 35 percent said they would not. The poll also took a look at the effect of the shutdown and according to that poll one in three people say they've been directly affected by the ongoing government shutdown.

NBC News has reported that lawmakers have been working Thursday night on a debt ceiling agreement and as well as trying to find a middle ground in budget battle. News10NBC will continue to track the progress of those negotiations and bring you an update when it's available.
