A 53-year-old Webster man is accused of stealing more than $39,000 from six different bank accounts and State Police want to know if you might be a victim too.
Joseph Muller is charged with two counts of grand larceny, attempted grand larceny, petit larceny, attempted petit larceny and 59 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument.
State Police tell News10NBC the charges stem from an ongoing investigation where Muller created personal checks on his home computer and made them payable to himself. Investigators say those checks were withdrawn from the bank accounts of six different victims. Muller was previously arrests on similar charges in September regarding one victim. In that case, police say he stole more than $127,000.
Muller was arraigned on the new charges and is being held on bail in the Monroe County Jail.
State Police want to hear from anyone who hired Muller as an accountant and noticed any money missing. You are asked to contact police at 279-0144.
