"Yeah, you're that distracting". That's the name of the newest initiative by the Ad Council of Rochester to prevent distracted driving.
Officials from the Ad Council along with the Rochester Business Alliance and local businesses came together in Henrietta Tuesday to announce the initiative. It focuses mostly on businesses letting their employees know about the dangers of distracted driving.
Ad Council officials say Rochester has a much higher rate of distracted driving than other areas our size.
Todd Butler, President and CEO of Ad Council of Rochester, said, "We do know from our own study that the higher your income is the higher your education is, the less likely you are to see that distracted driving is a problem for you personally. Also with Rochester being a fairly white collar community, we think its likely that a lot of the people feel more pressure to be connected to the workplace 24/7 and therefore, more likely to pick up their phone at use it at a time when its unsafe."
