State lawmakers want to hear from local researchers and businesses about how the government can improve the biotechnology business in New York.
Tuesday, New York State Senator Joseph Robach and the members of the State Senate Majority Coalition will be hosting a public hearing on regulatory reform and biotechnology.
The hearing will begin at 1 p.m. at the Monroe County Office Building on West Main street in Rochester.
The event is part of a series of industry-specific meetings lawmakers are using to try to identify regulations that keep businesses from expanding. Tuesday's hearing will focus on the biotechnology industry and its growth in New York State. Lawmakers say it will give them the opportunity to hear from business and local officials, and learn which rules and mandates affect the biotechnology industry.
