It is tax day for the more than 12-million Americans who requested a tax extension in April. As of last week, many had yet to file.
The government shutdown isn’t helping either. You will still be responsible for filing even if you could not receive help from the IRS to answer your questions.
Some people do get a break like those serving in combat zones or Colorado flood victims.
If you can’t pay what you owe, you are advised to file anyway to avoid a late-filing fee.
