Parents who have children on the autism spectrum had a chance to learn more about ways to help keep them safe Tuesday night.
AutismUp hosted the first event of this year's "Speaker Series."
The National Center of Missing and Exploited Children gave parents information about ways they can prevent their child from wandering off.
Experts say half of all children on the autism spectrum have wandered off from a safe location.
“We want to be able to give our parents as many tools as possible to keep their children safe,” said Rachel Rosner, Member Relations Director for AutismUp.
If you're interested in attending one of these seminars, there are several more scheduled. You can find the list here.
