Two Wyoming County teens charged with breaking into seasonal homes in three counties

Two Wyoming County teenagers have been arrested and charged with breaking into seasonal homes in Livingston,Wyoming and Allegany counties.

James M. Erb, 19, of Castile and Tyler F. Carpenter, 18, of Portageville, are charged with burglary. A third suspect was identified as a juvenile and was released to a parent. 

Sheriff's Deputies say the suspects would intentionally target seasonal homes where the owners were not likely to reside and steal firearms, ammunition, hunting gear, motorcycles, generators and clothing. Sheriff's Deputies say the suspects also caused damage to some of the homes.

Erb and Carpenter are in the Livingston County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail. Sheriff's Deputies say additional charges are expected once they complete their investigation. If you may be a victim of a similar incident, sheriff's deputies ask you to call your local law enforcement agency.
