Five former Monroe County jail inmates have filed federal lawsuits against the sheriff, the county and a former jail deputy.
The lawsuits all relate to the charges of sexual contact against former Jail Deputy Sergeant Robert Wilson. Wilson pleaded guilty earlier this year to a 21 count indictment for having sexual contact with female inmates while working in the jail.
The lawsuits claim Sheriff O'Flynn and the county did not adequately protect the women from Wilson. After finding out about the first inappropriate relationship back in July of 2010. One of the lawsuits also claims Wilson continued to have contact with one of the women after she was released from jail. The women are seeking compensation and punitive damages.
News10NBC reached out to the county for a response, but we're told the county doesn't comment on pending litigation.
