An 85-year-old man was trapped in his vehicle for about twenty minutes following a crash on Routes 5 & 20 in Bloomfield.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says Loren Cohn was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital following that crash Friday afternoon.
Deputies say 72-year-old Sanford Petix, of Rochester, was driving on in the area of Routes 5 & 20 and South Avenue in Bloomfield when he failed to stop at a sign at the intersection.
Investigators say Petix pulled into the path of another vehicle driven by a 51-year-old man. The second vehicle hit Petix's car and sent it into a third vehicle.
Cohn, who was a passenger in Petix's vehicle, suffered a neck injury. It took crews about 20 minutes to extricate Cohn from the vehicle. He was then taken by ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Petix was issued a ticket for failure to stop at a stop sign and will appear at the Town of East Bloomfield Court at a later date to answer charges.
