A former Wayne County Sheriff's deputy is facing charges after the sheriff's office says he was falsifying his time sheet.
Brandon Martin, 31, of Newark, is charged with offering a false instrument for filling and petit larceny.
The sheriff's office says Martin, who was a sheriff's deputy, falsified his payroll and was paid a benefit he was not entitled. Martin has since resigned from the sheriff's office.
Martin was released on an appearance ticket and will appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
