A campaign mailer from republican Irondequoit Town Supervisor Mary Joyce D’Aurizio violates the Fair Campaign pledge. That’s according to the Fair Elections Practices Committee.
The committee held a hearing in response to a complaint filed by the democratic candidate for supervisor, Adam Bello.
Officials ruled the mailer unfairly criticizes Bello for the record of a previous Irondequoit administration. Bello has never served in the Town of Irondequoit in any capacity.
Supervisor D’Aurizio issued a statement saying, “Please understand this mailing was sent without my review and without my permission. I am known for being a positive person and shall continue to run a positive campaign based upon my sound budgeting practices, flat property taxes, monitoring cash flows and controlled spending, and fostering responsible and respectful leadership for Irondequoit."
