EA Sports will continue to put out a PGA Tour video game but come next year, it won't have Tiger Woods on the title or cover.
Electronic Arts Sports has announced on its blog that it and Woods have made what the company calls a "mutual decision" to end their partnership. While Woods will no longer be on the cover and title, EA Sports says it will keep working with the PGA on new games.
EA Sports has named its game for Tiger since 1998 but EA Sports says "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14," will be the last one. Before Woods came along and dominated pro golf, EA Sports' golf video game was called "EA Sports PGA Tour."
After Woods' his sex scandal and marital issues erupted in 2009, EA Sports kept the endorsement deal intact, though recently it began putting more male and female pros in the mix, for example, featuring them in between-holes screens where players can get tips on how to improve their game play.
