The fate of a controversial downtown development project could be decided Wednesday.
Rochester’s Planning Commission is expected to vote on the proposal for a block of apartments on University Avenue across from Gleason Works. The plan from Morgan Management Developers calls for a multi-story building with around 100 units and a parking lot.
The planning board put the proposal aside last week to consider arguments about the pros and cons of the development.
Critics say it's too big and would encroach on the view from the nearby George Eastman House.
Supporters say it will help the neighborhood grow. If the planning commission votes yes, the project will go to the preservation board next.
