As consumers look for online bargains this holiday season, experts are warning that scammers and counterfeiters will also be on the hunt.

According to brand protection firm MarkMonitor, one in five bargain hunters shopped on an e-commerce website that was actually selling counterfeit goods.

MarkMonitor says there are some ways to make sure the site you are surfing is legitimate.

The firm says reputable sites will have its returns policy spelled out for you up front, and to be careful what you search for while on the site because counterfeiters will use seasonal keywords to their advantage.

It also says that if the price or deal is "too good to be true"...it probably is.
