The New York Air National Guard's 174th Attack Wing has resumed training flights for unmanned aircraft two weeks after one of its drones crashed into Lake Ontario.
Officials at the Syracuse-based unit say training flight operations for the unit's MQ-9 Reaper resumed Tuesday from Wheeler-Sack Army Airfield at Fort Drum in northern New York.
Training flights were suspended when one of the unarmed drones crashed Nov. 12 into Lake Ontario about 20 miles north of Oswego.
Searches of the lake's eastern shore have turned up pieces of wreckage from the multi-million-dollar drone. Military officials announced Saturday that the shoreline searches have been suspended, but they're asking that anyone who finds aircraft debris to contact the 174th.
The unit announced last week that it's working with the Navy to find the downed aircraft.
