Researchers say there is evidence that energy drinks can impact heart function.
Researchers in Germany gave 18 healthy adults MRI scans before and one hour after drinking an energy drink. The scans revealed differences in heart contraction rates after consuming the beverages which are high in caffeine.
It's unclear how the change might affect cardiac function long-term. The study did not detect any changes in blood pressure or heart rate.
