Leaders at a skilled nursing facility in Greece hope to make their center feel even more like home for their residents.
The Edna Tina Wilson Living Center hosted a 20th anniversary reception Tuesday. That's where administrators announced plans for a multi-million dollar renovation project, which includes changes to residential living spaces.
Amanda Teugeman, Edna Tina Wilson Living Center Administrator, said, “When you walk onto the neighborhood or the area where residents live, the first thing you see right now is the nurses station, which is more of the medical medal approach. What we will be doing is taking away the nurses station and moving it so that it is out of sight and the first thing you see when you walk on the neighborhood is beautiful kitchens and residential dining areas for the residents to enjoy.”
The renovation plans include adding more private space for residents and their families as well as opening up more space. Construction is expected to begin next month and be done by April 2015.
