Scientists say they're encouraged by the results of a new non-invasive treatment for breast cancer.
The technique uses MRI to locate cancerous lesions, then a high-intensity ultrasound heats and destroys the diseased tissue.
When researchers tested the treatment on 12 breast cancer patients, ten remained disease free.
While more studies are still needed, this procedure could be a viable non-invasive, outpatient treatment for breast cancer.
