An assemblyman from the Rochester area was among a group of ten republicans who met with Donald Trump Wednesday. They presented him a memo, outlining the reasons why he would be a good candidate for governor next year.
Assemblyman Bill Nojay says he met with the real estate mogul and Celebrity Apprentice star in New York City Wednesday. The memo, which is ten pages long, says Trump has the name recognition and the financial backing to kick off a race right away. The memo also says in many respects, Trump is not considered a republican, that he is his own brand and that could help him win votes.
Nojay says they hope to meet again in January.
