Governor Cuomo announced that the Finger Lakes region, including Rochester, was awarded $59.8 million for development at this year's Regional Economic Development Council Awards.
The Finger Lakes region was one of the lowest recipients this year. The Buffalo area was given $60.8 million.
The money will be used to invest in Eastman Business Park, redevelop a waterfront location in the Finger Lakes and expand the Rochester Public Market.
The top performer was Long Island. It received $83 million this year.
The Finger Lakes Council was the grand prize winner in 2012, receiving $96.2 million.
