Holidays top season for car thefts
Don't let a car thief spoil your holidays.
According to the National Insurance Crime Bureau,  New Year's Day is the number one holiday for car thefts.
So, if you're heading out to celebrate the New Year, take extra precautions.
Experts recommend parking in well lit areas, stowing packages in the trunk and never leaving valuables visible when parked.
And even if you're caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season, don't forget to lock your car.
