A rally to make sure sales tax revenue keeps going to schools in Wayne County.
This is the latest in the debate involving business owners, school officials, and county officials. The County's Board of Supervisors has floated a plan to divert the money into a county fund.
This morning’s rally is being held in Newark. Organizers say changing the policy could take away up to $5.4-million from area schools. They claim that could lead to cuts in staffing and negative effects on students and businesses.
The rally is from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Support Center in Newark.
