Rochester Police say a 16-year-old boy was shot following a dispute at a party on the city's west side.
Officers say they were called to Emerson Street Friday night for a report of a fight with a person shot. When they arrived on scene, officers say they observed a group of people leaving a part at a residence near Edgerton Park. At that party, they found a 16-year-old boy who had been shot in the lower body.
Police say his injuries are considered non-life threatening and he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment. Investigators say they shooting was the result of a dispute amongst partygoers, however at this point it's not clear what exactly happened prior to the shooting. The investigation is still ongoing.
