Authorities say a man leaving a New Jersey mall after shopping with his wife has been shot and critically wounded.
Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray says the shooting happened around 9 p.m. Sunday at The Mall at Short Hills  when two men confronted a couple returning to their vehicle on the second floor of a parking deck near Nordstrom's.
Murray says the husband, a 30-year-old Hudson County resident, was shot in the head before the men took off in his silver 2012 Range Rover. She didn't immediately know how many times he'd been shot.
Police are searching for the couple's SUV, which has New Jersey license plates.
No one else was injured.
The upscale mall, located about 23 miles west of Manhattan, has about 160 stores and restaurants.
