Heavy marijuana use as a teen can have significant impacts on your brain as an adult.
Researchers at Northwestern University studied nearly 100 people who smoked marijuana daily as teens for at least two years. Scans revealed their brains had abnormalities that impaired their memory.
These effects were evident even after they stopped using marijuana. It appeared the memory structures in their brains collapsed and shrank.
The younger the teens were when they smoked, the greater the damage.
