Brockport man killed in Orleans County crash

Orleans County Sheriff's Deputies have released the name of the man who was killed in a school bus crash Tuesday morning.

The crash happened just after 7:00 a.m. in the 16600 block of East Ridge Road (Route 104) in the town of Murray. 

Sheriff's Deputies say 23-year-old Daniel L. Hollaert Jr., of Brockport, was traveling east on Ridge Road when his car collided with a Kendall Central School District bus. Hollaert was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the bus, 72-year-old Harold F. Barnard, of Kendall, along with four other students were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Sheriff's Deputies say the students range in age from 11-15. 

The school district released a statement saying, "We are saddened to learn news that the driver of the other vehicle suffered fatal injuries and we are working with the Orleans County Sheriff's Department as they conduct their investigation.

Sheriff's Deputies are looking into what caused the crash.
