Calling hours and funeral services are set for the New York state trooper who was killed this week when his patrol vehicle was hit by a tractor-trailer on the Thruway.
State police announce Wednesday that calling hours for Trooper David Cunniff of Duanesburg will be held Thursday at Grace Fellowship Church in Watervliet, just north of Albany. His funeral will be Friday morning at the same church.
The 35-year-old trooper died Tuesday from injuries suffered in Monday night's crash at Exit 27 in Amsterdam. State police say truck hit Cunniff's vehicle and a car he had pulled for speeding. The car's driver remains hospitalized.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered flags on New York state government buildings to be flown at half-staff Thursday in Cunniff's honor.
