The Rochester Broadway Theatre League is celebrating its 30th anniversary working alongside Tony Award winning producer Albert Nocciolino.
Since 1984, they've brought to town some of the biggest blockbuster shows Broadway has to offer, from CATS and the Lion King to Wicked and Phantom of the Opera.
But starting out 30 years ago, both the RBTL"s John Parkhurst and Nocciolino agree it wasn't easy.
Albert Nocciolino said, “I don't think any of us knew exactly where it was going, there had been a history here for a long time of Broadway coming to Rochester for many, many years, but there had been lapses in presentations of shows. Who knew? We started in a very modest way and it didn't go well at first. We didn't sell many tickets.”
Looking back three decades, they share a lot of laughs and some really great stories to tell about this unique theatre partnership.
News10NBC will take you behind the scenes as we look back on 30 years of Broadway's Best in Rochester Thursday night at 7:30 on News10NBC.
