Attorney General Eric Holder has spoken at a 25th anniversary memorial service for victims of the 1988 Pan Am airliner bombing.
At the ceremony Saturday at Arlington National Cemetery, Holder said that no amount of time or distance can ease the pain or erase the loss.
Pan Am 103 exploded over Lockerbie, Scotland, on Dec. 21, 1988, soon after takeoff from London.
The terror attack killed 270 people either aboard the plane or on the ground. Many of the victims were American college students flying home for Christmas. 35 of those killed were Syracuse University students.
Whitney Davis lost her sister Shannon, a Syracuse student, and other friends in the explosion. She attended the service and describes being in shock when she heard the news.
Memorials were also held in London and Scotland.
