Freezing rain and accumulated ice has left thousands of people across Western New York without power Sunday, but now the lights are back on for most in Monroe County.
Outages continue to fluctuate in Monroe County. Currently, more than 640 customers are without power, mostly in Ogden and Brighton. That number has dropped and risen throughout the day.
However, many customers in Genesee and Orleans County are still in the dark. National Grid says more than 7,200 customers without power in Orleans County and 1,700 in Genesee. Albion and Batavia are where the most outages have been seen.
Both RG&E and National Grid's websites say the companies hope to have power restored to customers sometime Sunday.
