Officials say that flooding from the Tonawanda Creek has caused problems for some drivers in Batavia.
Authorities have shut down several streets due to some flooding from the creek. According to firefighters, the main road closure is on Walnut Street in Batavia, but several side streets, including Ganson Avenue, Jackson, Chestnut and Law streets are closed as well. Firefighters say these are the typical areas that flood when the creek runs over. Drivers should avoid this area until water level recede.
Firefighters say the weather service predicts that water levels should peak shortly and begin water levels should begin receding in the next few hours.
