Christmas may be over, but if you have a real Christmas tree, don't let it dry out and become a fire hazard. A dry tree can burn very quickly.
According to the Insurance Information Institute, nearly half of all Christmas tree fires between 2007 and 2011 were caused by either an electrical malfunction or because a branch was too close to a heat source.
It's a good idea to recycle a tree when it starts dropping needles.
