It's a topic we've looked at in our exclusive New York State Exposed reports. Now, the number of people leaving New York State because of taxes or other state issues is the subject of a New York Times report.
According to the article New York, which is currently the third most populated state in the U.S., will soon fall to fourth place, behind Florida.
The change could happen as soon as Monday when new census data is released. Experts say if the switch doesn't come this year, it definitely will in 2014.
The dropping population is a sign of the struggles New Yorkers are facing, from high taxes, to fewer jobs, and home prices higher than other states.
