Best Game: Blitzing defense had seven sacks and limited Miami to 103 yards offense - including 14 rushing - and six first downs in putting dent in Dolphins' playoff chances with 19-0 win Dec. 22.

Worst Game: Rookie QB EJ Manuel threw season-worst four interceptions, and offense managed season-low 214 yards in 27-6 loss at Tampa Bay on Dec. 8. Defense allowed 165 yards rushing, including Bobby Rainey's 80-yard touchdown on second play.

Best Play: Manuel's 2-yard touchdown pass to Stevie Johnson with 2 seconds left to cap nine-play, 80-yard drive in 24-23 win over Carolina on Sept. 15. It was first win for Manuel and rookie coach Doug Marrone.

Worst Play: Backup quarterback Jeff Tuel's interception facing third-and-goal at Kansas City 1, which was returned 100 yards for a touchdown by CB Sean Smith to tie game at 10. Chiefs improved to 9-0 by rallying to 23-13 win.

Biggest Surprise: Bills president Russ Brandon finally acknowledging longstanding concerns that team might be giving away home-field edge to play annual game at Toronto following 34-31 OT loss to Atlanta on Dec. 1. A few days later, Brandon declined to rule out possibility of canceling series after it was renewed for five years in January.

Biggest Disappointment: Manuel's knee injuries. The first-round draft pick's development was stunted because he couldn't stay healthy. Manuel finished 4-6 record, missing six games due to knee injuries. He missed the final two games because of a slight tear in his left knee. He missed another four games after hurting his right knee in a 37-24 loss at Cleveland on Oct. 3. Manuel also missed the final two preseason games with a left knee injury.

What's Next: Finding big-bodied target for Manuel, and run-stuffing LB to complement rookie Kiko Alonso. Determining whether to re-sign three-time Pro Bowl S Jairus Byrd. The Bills also have the option to designate Byrd franchise player for a second straight offseason.
