Continuing the spirit of the holiday season and bringing some extra joy, to kids battling cancer. That was the goal of a holiday party hosted by Camp Good Days and Special Times today.
The event at Ellison Park featured horse-drawn sleigh rides and live reindeer along with a special appearance by Santa, Mrs. Claus and some elves.
Camp Good Days Founder Gary Mervis says events like this are especially important to kids undergoing cancer treatment. “They can just be a kid again and get a chance to do it with probably the only people in the world who can really understand what it's like to be them."
The holiday party was made possible with the help of volunteers and staff at Camp Good Days along with donations from the community.
