A house fire in Rochester left several people, including children, without shelter on a cold morning.
Rochester fire officials say that multiple crews were called in around 2 a.m. Friday to reports of a house on fire at 94 Bartlett Street, off of Reynolds Street.
Officials said that wintry conditions and slippery roads made it difficult for crews to get close to the scene. Officials say that they were anticipating very low temperatures.
News10NBC is told the fire took about 15 minutes to extinguish, and that the fire appears to have started in a second floor bedroom.
A total of seven people, including at least three children, were taken out of the building. Firefighters sheltered residents in their trucks while they were fighting the fire.
The Red Cross was on scene, and is helping to find alternative housing for the residents.
