Keep your pets safe and inside during the storm

During this arctic blast, the ASPCA says you need to keep an eye on your dogs, cats and other animals during the storm.

Even if your cat is an outdoor one, make sure you bring it in inside as it could easily freeze or be hit by a car when visibility is low.

Dogs sometimes like to run through the snow but experts say you shouldn’t let them off the leash in a snowstorm as they can easily lose their scent and get lost.

Make sure you wipe off your pet’s paws, legs and stomach when they come indoors. They may have picked up salt, antifreeze or other chemicals and could ingest them later.
