Forecasters say a winter storm will continue to bombard western New York with fierce winds and heavy snow through Wednesday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a blizzard warning late Monday for the city of Buffalo and surrounding areas. It's in place until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Monday declared a state of emergency for 14 counties and ordered a section of Thruway from south of Buffalo to the Pennsylvania line closed as of 8 p.m. Monday.

Forecasters say more than three feet of snow may pile up in some locations by the time it's over.

The list of road, school and business closings grows by the hour.
