A new Johns Hopkins study reveals daily meditation can help reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Meditation isn't used in most mainstream medical practices but this study of patients with various physical and mental health issues found it worked as well as anti-depressants in some cases.
Researchers found 30 to 40 minutes of “mindful meditation” each day also showed promise in controlling chronic pain and stress.
Although more studies are needed to determine to clarify these findings there were no harmful effects from meditation.
