Four people were able to escape without injury after their house caught on fire in the town of Lima Tuesday evening.
Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies say the call came in at about 6:05 p.m. for a house fire on Chase Road. Multiple fire departments and deputies responded to the scene.
Fire officials say the fire started in a vehicle that was parked outside near the home, which then caught the house on fire.
Deputies say the home is in an area with no fire hydrants and was far from the roadway, causing a burden for firefighters. The bitter cold wind was also created an issue for first responders.
News10NBC is told the four people who live in the home are being assisted by EMS and the American Red Cross.
Sheriff's Deputies say the home sustained major damage.
