It was up but not up enough to meet expectations. That's the story for online holiday shopping this past Christmas season.
The research firm comScore reports online shopping in November and December rose 10-percent, reaching the $46.5-billion mark during those two months. An impressive number on the surface but it was lower than expected.
Two reasons are being given for the disappointing numbers. One, is that shoppers were reluctant to spend freely because of the sluggish economy and two, with Thanksgiving coming late in November, there was a shorter holiday shopping season in 2013.
