The woman accused of starting a fire that destroyed three Palmyra buildings has pleaded guilty.
Christina Nicklaw has pleaded guilty to fourth-degree arson, the highest charge against her, and was sentenced to five years of probation.
Wayne County District Attorney Rick Healy said he felt jail would serve no purpose due to mental illness.
Investigators say Nicklaw started the blaze by setting fire to a pile of blankets and sheets in her bedroom while her four-year-old daughter was still in the apartment.
Nicklaw was examined by psychiatrists for the defense and prosecution. They both confirmed her mental illness.
Sixteen fire companies from three companies had to be called to fight the blaze.
