The Rochester Amerks are finally playing at home again after three weeks away.
Tim Murray's Binghamton Senators are in Rochester to play the Amerks Wednesday night. The address is One War Memorial Square, Rochester, NY, 14614. That's not only for the Senators, but for the Amerks too. They may have forgotten how to get there.
Rochester spent the holidays in Switzerland for the Spengler Cup. They then returned to the states, only to hit the road again. Now they are finally back at the Blue Cross Arena.
The Amerks are off to a slow start since returning to AHL play with two loses in three games, falling from the top of the standings.
Some home cooking might be the answer for a weary crew.
"It seems like it's kind of an awful lot, or it had been an awful lot of time since we've been here. It's nice to get back in the friendly confines and the familiarity of where you're at, and not be in the altitude of the Swiss Alps, so it's been nice to be home," said Chad Cassidy, Amerks Head Coach.
"I think that everyone really appreciates coming back to your own locker room and all the amenities we have here once you've been gone for a while. We're excited to play at home here." said Drew Bagnall, Amerks Captain.
Randy Cunneyworth has a new title. The organization has promoted him to a special assistant for the Amerks.
The Amerks will take the ice against the Senators at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday.
