A Rochester man is under arrest after police say they saw him shooting at another person on the city's north side.

Rochester Police say the shooting happened on Roth Street just before 3:45 p.m. They say officers were handling another job when they saw the suspect, 23-year-old Paul Gaines of Rochester, shooting at the victim.

Police say they pursued Gaines on foot and were able to take him into custody.

News10NBC is told the victim suffered a minor, non-life threatening gunshot wound to his left leg and was taken to Strong Hospital for treatment.

Investigators say it appears another shooter was involved who is not yet in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
