The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says a police officer suffered minor injuries following a three car crash in Macedon.

Deputies say Sergeant Thomas Cooman of the Macedon Police Department was driving westbound on Route 31 near Beebe Road when his cruiser hit another vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Christopher Button. Investigators say the impact of the crash pushed Button's vehicle into the eastbound lane where it hit a third vehicle driven by 23-year-old Farmington woman.

Sgt. Cooman suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at Thompson Hospital. Button and a passenger in his car were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, according to officials.

Deputies say the crash is still under investigation.
