Some local college students were given a rite of passage Sunday in Pittsford.
The Wegmans School of Pharmacy at Saint John Fisher College hosted a white coat ceremony for all its pharmacy students.
It's an annual ceremony for first year students that marks their entrance into the pharmacy profession.
"The white coat really is a symbol of the trust and professionalism that comes along with the profession of pharmacy. It's a symbol of the need to put the patients first in all that we do,” said Dr. Core Wyman, Consulting Clinical Pharmacist at GRIPA.
A total of 82 students received a white coat Sunday.
