Fire crews were called to the scene of a food truck fire Sunday night in what firefighters are calling the first food truck fire for the department.
The fire broke out just before 11:30 p.m. at the Food Patrol truck on Merlin Street. Firefighters say the owner was planning on having the truck inspected Monday in an effort to prepare it for business. The fire spread quickly, damaging the kitchen and melting the siding on a neighboring home. Battalion Chief Michael Dobbertin of the Rochester Fire Department said the aluminum and propane inside the truck made for a more intense fire.
No one was hurt in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.
