A Monroe County man was stopped by TSA officers at a security checkpoint at the Rochester airport on Saturday after an officer who was monitoring an x-ray machine spotted a loaded handgun in his carry-on bag.
TSA officials tell News10NBC they contacted Monroe County Sheriff’s Deputies who responded to the airport and confiscated the man’s gun. We are told the handgun was loaded with six rounds and was holstered inside his carry-on bag.
TSA officials want to remind you that weapons, including firearms, firearm parts and ammunition, are not permitted in carry-on bags, but can be transported in checked bags if they are unloaded, properly packed and declared to the airline.
