Diaper rash could be allergic reaction to baby wipes

Created: 01/14/2014 6:48 AM WHEC.com

Your baby's diaper rash may actually be an allergic reaction to the wipes you are using. That's according to researchers at the University of Connecticut.

Researchers have found that some children are allergic to a chemical in the wipes known as MI (methylisothiazolinone)

So what should parents do? Doctors say minimize the use of wipes, use paper towels or a washcloth, or look for wipes that are free of MI.
